Bella Mackenzie’s kind of country shines above her age.

Rooted in the craft of song writing, the emerging artist from Mackay Queensland is growing into a young woman who cuddles the genre’s contemporary movement forward. 

The pragmatic singer-songwriter is quickly carving out her own authentic, exciting place in a very pop country domain. Bella seeks to maintain the feel good without conceding authenticity, apparent on her upcoming release ‘Ain’t For You", an empowerment song for anyone who’s ever felt less than, not only in a relationship but in general.  

Bella Mackenzie grew up in a unique place, living on-site at her family’s hotel motel in the coal mining town of Moranbah Queensland. The town for a time was the fastest growing in Australia triggered by the coal boom and so they saw some pretty rare things at the pub - The Black Nugget Hotel Motel. With live music every week the motivation and inspiration to take up music. Bella’s says, “We had lots of touring muso's come through which I would listen to and watch.

Bella taught herself guitar watching YouTube and entered her first country music talent competition at the age of 12. She was hooked and wrote her first song a couple years ago at the age of 13. With her dad a fan of Dylan and Springsteen and mum a country music fan, Bella's taste in music encompasses Chris Stapleton and Vince Gill through to Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Melanie Dyer and Caitlyn Shadbolt.  

An advocate of country music’s legacy and future, it’s no surprise to see her broad palate.
